Our one-week itineraries includes sightseeing, Black history tours, leadership development activities, visits to museums, and even a night cruise on the Seine. We also visit colleges and meet with admissions officials and learn about opportunities to study abroad - everything from why they should consider it to how they can afford it. Students also attend networking events with local expats and hear their stories about why they chose to live abroad and how being expatriates has impacted them.
Our students learn to live like locals and are immersed in the local culture. They stay in residential areas, become familiar with their temporary neighborhood, learn to ride public transportation and learn to navigate the city, the language, the currency and the customs all in a very short period of time. This program builds knowleagable, independent teen travelers who are ready to see the world with confidence.
Going Global partners with the award-winning tour company Entrée to Black Paris to offer dynamic, engaging Black history tours covering a wide variety of topics. Students experience one of the most famous cities in the world through the lens of its significant Black history. Tours include visits to places where the great writers James Baldwin and Richard Wright lived and worked, sites where Malcolm X and Stokely Carmichael addressed packed crowds, and the place where Alexander Dumas and Josephine Baker received France's highest honors. Our students learn to look at history from a more inclusive perspective. Our students learn to see themselves in a destination.
